SASSA Announce February Grant Payments Dates For 2024. The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has unveiled the grant payment dates for February 2024, impacting millions of beneficiaries. This official announcement outlines the distribution plan for various grants aimed at supporting financially vulnerable individuals in South Africa.

Sassa will distribute permanent grants, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up, and Grant-in-aid. Commencing on 2 February 2024, these payments will reach approximately 18 million beneficiaries over the course of the week.

SASSA Grant Payments Dates For 2024

While Sassa typically endeavors to distribute grants on consecutive days, this may not be feasible in February. Due to the agency’s policy of not distributing grants on weekends or public holidays, the grant payments for February 2024 will follow a specific schedule.

  • Older Persons Grant: 2 February 2024
  • Disability Grants: 5 February 2024
  • Children’s Grants: 6 February 2024

Addressing January 2024 Grant Payment Issues

In January 2024, Sassa encountered challenges and temporarily suspended grant payments for over 150,000 beneficiaries. This suspension resulted from discrepancies in the details of grant beneficiaries.

Sassa clarified that the decision to suspend payments was aimed at preventing erroneous distribution. Beneficiaries who did not receive their January 2024 grant payment, but are deemed eligible, will receive a double payment during the February run, covering both their outstanding January 2024 grant and the regular February 2024 grant.
