Sassa Gold Cards Valid Beyond December 2023 for Grant Payments
Sassa Gold Cards Valid Beyond December 2023 for Grant Payments. There will be millions of people receiving social grant payments from SASSA over the next few days. SASSA has reminded grant beneficiaries that their expired gold cards can be used to collect their grants.
SASSA December 2023 Grant Payment Schedule
Over 18 million vulnerable individuals living in South Africa will receive permanent social grants from the South African Social Security Agency in December 2023.
Sassa Gold Cards Won’t Expire
Social grant beneficiaries are reminded that their Sassa Gold cards will not expire in December or in the following months.
The SASSA gold cards will not expire in December and will continue to be valid for grant payments beyond December 2023.
There were approximately 5.3 million SASSA Gold cards that were due for replacement by December 31, 2023, many of which had already expired. Postbank announced that all SASSA Gold cards will continue to function beyond December 2023.
Assurance for Grant Beneficiaries
In 2024, expired SASSA gold cards could still be used, but what would happen to expired gold cards was unclear after SASSA extended the validity of SASSA gold cards.
SASSA’s announcement grants grant beneficiaries peace of mind, since they do not have to renew their SASSA Gold cards anymore.
Distribution of Permanent Grants
Grants distributed by SASSA include Older Persons Pension Grants, Disability Grants, War Veterans Grants, Care Dependency Grants, Foster Child Grants, Child Support Grants, Child Support Grant Top-Ups, and Grants in Aid.
This grant will be distributed on Friday, 1 December 2023. However, beneficiaries of other permanent grants will have to wait until the new week since SASSA does not pay grants on weekends.
Grant Payment Dates for December
- Older Persons/Pensioners’ Grant: Friday, 1 December 2023
- Disability Grant: Monday, 4 December 2023
- Children’s Grant: Tuesday, 5 December 2023
Where To Collect Your SASSA Grant
Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer, Usave, and Checkers are some of the retail outlets where grant recipients can pick up their social grants.
Pick n Pay, Boxer, USave merchants, Checkers, and Shoprite are examples of supermarkets where SASSA beneficiaries can receive their payments through their SASSA cards or directly into their bank accounts.
Flexible Grant Payment Methods
Alternatively, beneficiaries can choose to have their grants directly deposited into their bank accounts after SASSA completes payment.
It is not necessary to withdraw cash immediately after opening the account. The funds will remain in the account until required.
Cash pay points provide another option for grant beneficiaries, but they are limited in terms of flexibility. Grants can only be collected during certain hours during grant payment cycles.
Conclusion
SASSA assurance that gold cards remain valid beyond December 2023 eases concerns for grant beneficiaries. With a streamlined distribution schedule and flexible payment methods, individuals can access their funds seamlessly, providing financial stability and convenience.
